CAN WE HELP YOU?

The Society is keen to assist individuals and groups in the community.  Here are some of the ways we may be able to help:

ILLUSTRATED TALKS Members of the Society are happy to give illustrated talks on most aspects of the Falkirk district's history to any interested group.  Church Guilds, Probus, Rotary and Round Table, Senior Citizens, community groups, and history and heritage associations are just some of the many who have regular visits from our members.   There is no charge made for the talks.  If you would like to have a talk please contact the Secretary who is the Larbert Ian Scott at 81 South Broomage Avenue, Larbert, FK5 3ED Telephone: 01324 553386.  Alternatively you can make direct contact with one of the main speakers, Geoff Bailey, John Reid, Brian Watters, John Walker or the Falkirk Ian Scott.  Their numbers are given in the 'About the Society' section of the web site.

GUIDED WALKS  The Society will also be happy to arrange guided historical walks to groups within the  district.  Please contact any of the above.

SUPPORT FOR RESEARCHERS One of the Society's main aims is to increase awareness of the rich heritage of our area.  To this end we will be delighted to help people who are engaged in any kind of historical research in our area.  This includes students at school and college, adults conducting family or local history projects or companies or individuals who need to have a source of reliable historical information for commercial or other purposes.  Unfortunately we are not able to help with individual family research except of course where information is sought on the historical background to a place or a period.  In other words we may not be able to help Mrs Thompson to locate her great uncle who may have lived for a time in Camelon but we could tell her all about the village at the time including places where he may have worked!

HELP WITH INFORMATION, PUBLIC EVENTS AND PROJECTS
The Society has also worked closely with Falkirk Council and the Town Centre Management team on a range of heritage related initiatives including celebrating various important anniversaries, promoting heritage trails, contributing articles on a range of subjects and advising on future developments.
